Overview
The PT65H is a high-capacity float and thermostatic steam trap with an internal thermostatic air vent, in cast iron construction with stainless steel internals, sized 1½" and 2". Designed for draining large condensate loads from low and medium pressure steam heating and process equipment such as unit heaters, heat exchangers, driers and jacketed vessels, it gives a modulating discharge at steam temperature with excellent automatic air venting. It is offered in double-orifice (high capacity at low differential) and rotary-orifice (wide 200 psi working range) variants, with steam lock release (SLR) options. Rated to 250 psig maximum allowable pressure and 425°F. Supplied, sized and serviced for steam systems across Nepal.
Features & Benefits
- The two orifice options make this one body serve two very different duties: the double-orifice variant gives very high capacity at low differential pressure (nearly 7000 lbs/hr at 0.5 psi), while the rotary-orifice variant trades initial capacity for a much wider 200 psi working range, so the buyer picks by whether the system runs at low differential and high load or across a broad pressure range.
- High capacity in a single 1½"/2" body means one PT65H can replace several smaller traps on a large heat exchanger or drier, reducing installation points and the associated leak and maintenance surface.
- The internal thermostatic air vent clears the large air volume these big process units hold at start-up, getting equipment to temperature faster than a bucket trap that vents air slowly.
- Discharging condensate at steam temperature keeps the full heating surface active and avoids condensate backing up and sub-cooling, which is the main efficiency argument for a float trap over a thermostatic-only trap on process equipment.
- The rotary-orifice variant's ability to hold capacity across 200 psi suits systems where the differential swings widely with load, since a fixed double-orifice would either waste steam at low differential or starve at high differential.
- Cast iron body keeps cost reasonable for this capacity class at the 250 psig ceiling; for higher pressure or SW/FL ends, the cast steel PT66 is the step up in the same high-capacity family.
- SLR (steam lock release) option handles equipment where condensate gets locked behind trapped steam, such as siphon-drained rotating cylinders, which a plain float trap cannot clear on its own.
